The company Kinetic was not a single company as it was a joint venture between Kinetic Engineering Ltd, an India based company and Honda Motor Company, from Japan. Kinetic as an individual company was founded by H.K. Firodia in the year 1984. Kinetic was the first company to have a venture with HMSI. The joint venture between both the companies went on from 1984 to 1998; they were manufacturing two-stroke scooters in India. The venture ended in the year 1998 after which Kinetic Engineering continued to sell scooters and bikes under the brand name of kinetic till 2008. In the year 2008, the company was acquired by Mahindra motors. Kinetic Y2k had a decent look which made it more common for daily use and even office use. The vehicle featured a rectangular headlamp with side lamps on the sides. The vehicle had a single seat that was able to accommodate a driver and a passenger. It was also one of the slimmest scooters at that time in comparison to Bajaj Chetak and Honda Eterno. The production of Kinetic Y2K has been discontinued by the manufacturer. If you wish to buy a Kinetic Y2k, you can only buy it in the resale condition. The used Kinetic Y2K scooters can cost you around INR 10,000 to INR 11,000. When buying a used Kinetic Y2K, you need to consider the condition of the scooter as it can impact the resale value of the scooter massively.
