In the year 1999, Hero launched Hero Cbz. The bike model was launched simultaneously with the original Honda 156cc engine. The styling of the bike was a scaled version of the famous Honda CB series. The initial Hero CBZ had an over-square engine which featured a Keihin slide type carburettor to the accelerator to provide a better pickup.
The original CBZ was unchanged for five years. The Hero CBZ was followed up by the CBZ star which boasted new graphics. In the year 2005, the bike was discontinued, and within a couple of years, the CBZ-Xtreme was launched.
Hero CBZ has been one of the most popular motorcycles of its time. It used to offer a high performance and used to come with alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. Back in the day, it used to compete with Bajaj Pulsar 150. At that point of time, these two bikes were the only options in the economic performance segment.
