The origin of Nissan lies in Japan, but the company is in partnership with Renault a France company since 1999. Nissan Motor Company of Japan showed its interest in the Indian car market and launched itself in the year 2005 in India. The company had no collaboration with any Indian car brands and is wholly owned by the Nissan Motor Co. Ltd Japan. In 2008, Nissan cars India signed up with the Government of Tamil Nadu for setting up the manufacturing plant, in partnership with Renault France.

Talking about the Nissan cars, the company has launched both MUV and SUV with the sedan cars in the Indian car market. In India, Nissan was a portfolio of two brands Nissan itself and Datsun. Coming to its car models Nissan X-Trail, Nissan 370Z, Nissan Teana, Nissan Evalia have currently discontinued, whereas, there are many ongoing models which customers can buy from the Nissan showroom. From which, Nissan Micra (launched 2010), Nissan Sunny (launched 2011), and Nissan Terrano (launched 2013) are still available. Besides the normal range car, the company also produces a range of luxury models branded as Infinity. Companies like Renault, Nissan, Infiniti, Renault Samsung Motors, Dacia, Datsun, Venucia and Lada come under the list of the luxurious range of cars.

The price of the Nissan cars varies according to its models. Depending upon the budget, the buyer can prefer the car from the luxurious or the affordable range. The cars offered by Nissan are launched keeping in mind the economic class of India. Now, one can also buy a used Nissan car in an affordable range depending upon its depreciated value and the car model.
